Whats the best private messenger in your opinion?
ill rank my favorites in order of least buggy to most buggiest:

1) simplex (the GOAT)
2) signal (not as many features)
3) telegram (fedded, best in terms of ui and features)
4) session (gives me glowie vibes)
5) matrix (POS crashes every 2 seconds)

what is it people find appealing about simplex over signal? the signal protocol is a cryptographic marvel, its only downside is the need for a phone number, but they at least don't care to check reputation of phone numbers so you can use a voip or a random number from 5sim

yes, signals protocol is revolutionary. hence why so many other messengers implement it (with back-doors of-course)
simplex is appealing because it has no user identifiers and has a few more features .
